Ramadan Day 21 - My Heart is in Your Hands, Do Not Return It to Me, Until You Have Mended It.

April 12, 2023

I have really been leaning into du’a this Ramadan, learning du’a from the Qur’an, from the prophets, our righteous predecessors, online and from my fellow sisters in spaces that have made my Ramadan so much more enriching. May Allah increase His baraka in these spaces that have been cultivated to make women feel safe in their Ibadah. Amin.

One of such du’as encompassed so much of what I have been feeling lately and it was a du’a shared by @s.vbr -

“O Allah, it is the last ten days and nights of Ramadan and my heart is in Your hands, so do not return it to me unless You have mended it.”

Another du’a that was so heartfelt was from an anonymous sister in one of the beautiful sisterhood spaces I have been blessed to be a part of -

"Ya Allah, please mend all that is broken, strengthen all that is weak, lighten all that is heavy, illuminate all that is dark, relieve all that is painful, comfort all that is worrying, answer all that is unknown, bestow all that is good, protect from all that is evil, purify all that is corrupted, unbolt all that is constricted, guide all that is disorientated, rescue all that is oppressed and restore all that is lost. Ya Allah, grant me light upon light, strength upon strength, peace upon peace, ease upon ease."

Ya Rabb I call upon you with all Your beautiful names, exalted are You, Lord of the worlds, Al- Mujib, The Responsive who never turns away a raised hand, Ya Rabb with my hands raised I ask of You with these beautiful words of Your beloved servants. Accept from them and accept from me, O Most Merciful of those who show mercy. Amin

With love, Ibtisam
