Ramadan Day 6 - Finding Allah in the Mundane

March 28, 2023

SubhanAllah we’re already a week into Ramadan & almost making it to the end of the first ten days. This auspicious month is leaving as quickly as it came. I can’t help but already start to miss it. Ya Rabb bless us in this month and allow us to reach many more Ramadans, Amin.

It feels like I’m not doing enough to nurture the connection I want to have with Allah. Nonetheless, I do not despair. The scholars say every aspect of our lives can be an act of Ibadah. Thus, I try to find Allah in everything I do. In my mundane human existence, I proclaim His glory & show gratitude in a whisper under my breadth - SubhanAllahi wa Bihamdihi, SubhanAllahil Adzim: Limitless is Allah in His Glory & all praise is due to Him. Glory be to Allah, The Great!

With each letter leaving my tongue, I seek His closeness, His sustenance, His peace & His Mercy.

إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ - You ˹alone˺ we worship and You ˹alone˺ we ask for help.

Here I am O Allah. Ya Rahman grant me mercy from Yourself. Ya Rabb do not let this month pass without my sins passing with it & make  Ramadan a witness in my favor & not against me.

Ya Allah let it end with Your satisfaction & free me from the fire. O Most Merciful of those who show mercy. I ask You for faith that doesn’t return & for blessings that are endless & are a coolness to my eyes without cease. Ya Rahman I ask You for a beautiful return to You that is neither humiliating nor shameful. And that I am in the company of Your beloved peace & blessings be upon him in the highest of Jannah, I ask You O Most merciful of those who show mercy.

With love,
Ibtisam
